Bynea were welcomed to King George Field for the second encounter of the season between the two sides. Llandybie attacked from the start with an early lineout in the visitors twenty two. Merlyn McClelland took the catch to set up a driving maul for Dafydd Wyn Jones to crash over for a try after four minutes. A further two lineouts followed but Bynea defended them well. Bynea kicked a penalty for not releasing in the tackle.

From a visitors attack, they were penalised for holding on in the tackle. Jordan Tommason took a quick tap moving the ball down the line to McClelland who burst through two defenders to run in from 25 yards for a nice try converted by Jones to lead 12- 3 after fifteen minutes.

A spell of Bynea pressure followed with them scoring a converted try by Lewis Daniel on the half hour and also missed a penalty. Llandybie showed good line speed from Rhys Evans,Keri Davies and Ioan Rees with scrum half Steff Jones tackling very strongly. From a charged down kick the hosts broke clear but threw a wild pass with two men outside and the try line begging. Llandybie had two driving scrums with front row Christian Davies,Jones and Lloyd Thompson giving a good platform but Bynea held out till half time with the score 12 – 10.

Bynea launched some early second half attacks with fly half Rhys Evans pegging them back with a fifty yard kick. Further home attacks brought full back Wayne Williams into the line but his kick ahead was minored. From the visitors drop out Evans fielded the kick stepping inside two chasers and drawing the cover to offload to Ioan Rees for an unexpected try converted by Jones to lead 19 – 10.

Bynea kept going and scored a good try from a tap penalty whilst Llandybie put in some sustained attacks trying to get their bonus point try. Carries from Tommason, Josh Powell, McClelland, Jones and Rhys Cann failed to get over the whitewash with Bynea defending well. Cam Morgan battled on with a dead leg and Powell put in some big hits and carried well. Llandybie earned a penalty for a high tackle despatched by Jones but were giving away a number of penalties one resulting in a yellow for not retreating ten yards.

With a score to give them a draw Bynea increased the pressure but Llandybie were determined to hold them out with some last ditch tackles to hold out to the final whistle. Final score 22 – 15 for their fifth win on the bounce. This was a very good result against a very strong Bynea side and moves Llandybie to within a point of Penybanc and two of Fall Bay with games in hand.
